Collagen Induction
Microneedling
Controlled micro-injuries trigger collagen production, improving fine lines, pore size, tone and superficial scarring.
Overview
Medical microneedling — often combined with PRP or radiofrequency — induces a natural wound-healing response that remodels the dermis. The result is firmer, smoother skin over a series of three to six sessions.
How it works
Motorised pens create thousands of controlled micro-punctures at depths from 0.25–3 mm. The controlled wound-healing response stimulates fibroblast activity and new collagen production. RF-enhanced versions add thermal energy through insulated needles for deeper remodeling.
Who it's for
- Enlarged pores, uneven texture, dull skin
- Fine lines and early photoageing
- Mild-to-moderate acne scarring (RF versions preferred for depth)
- All skin types — RF energy is colour-blind
Benefits
- +Improves texture, pores and tone
- +Safe across all Fitzpatrick phototypes
- +Short downtime (24–48 hours)
- +Effective when serialised (3–6 sessions)
Risks & considerations
- −Redness and pinpoint bleeding for 24 hours
- −Very rare tram-tracking with poor technique
- −Post-inflammatory pigmentation if sun-exposed too early
Recovery
24–48 hours of visible redness. Avoid active skincare (retinoids, acids) for 5 days and strict SPF for 4 weeks.
Typical price in Switzerland
CHF 250 – 650 per session. Swiss pricing reflects physician-only administration and top-tier product selection. Consultations are typically CHF 100–200, often deducted from a booked treatment.
Frequently asked
- Does it hurt?
- Numbing cream makes the session comfortable. Expect mild stinging similar to a sunburn afterwards.

Comparison
CO₂ Laser vs Morpheus8
Both remodel skin, but through different mechanisms. Fractional CO₂ laser vaporises microcolumns of skin. Morpheus8 delivers radiofrequency energy through microneedles into the deeper dermis. The right choice depends on your skin type, downtime tolerance and target concern.
Comparison
Microneedling vs RF Microneedling
Traditional microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries with fine needles. RF microneedling (Morpheus8, Genius, Secret RF) adds radiofrequency heat delivered through the same needles — a fundamentally different treatment despite the shared name.
