Sun protection after aesthetic treatments
Why SPF is non-negotiable after lasers, peels and microneedling — even in a Swiss winter.
Why freshly treated skin is vulnerable
Resurfacing treatments temporarily weaken the skin barrier. UV exposure in this phase increases the risk of redness and pigmentation.
Practical rules
Use a broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily, reapply outdoors, and wear a hat. Remember that UV at altitude and on snow is significantly stronger — relevant for Swiss ski weekends.
Timing your treatment
Many patients schedule stronger resurfacing in autumn and winter, when it is easier to avoid intense sun.
