Your first Botox appointment: what to expect
From consultation to the two-week check-up — a calm, step-by-step walkthrough for first-timers.
The consultation
A good practitioner reviews your medical history, medications and goals, watches how your face moves, and explains which areas are worth treating — and which are not.
The treatment itself
Injections take 10–20 minutes using very fine needles. Most people describe the sensation as brief pinches. Some clinics offer ice or numbing cream.
The first two weeks
Effects start after a few days and settle at around two weeks. Many clinics offer a follow-up at this point to check symmetry and make small adjustments.
Aftercare basics
Common advice includes avoiding rubbing the area, intense exercise and saunas for the rest of the day. Follow your clinic's specific instructions.
A note before you decide
